Our Story
Fitzgerald Construction was formed in December of 1997 by Managing Director, Stephen Fitzgerald. Since our inception, we have grown to gain significant market share in the Nelson/Tasman region.
The dedicated and professional culture at Fitzgerald Construction is a direct result of Stephen's commitment to service and quality. We have a strong focus on collaboration, communication, and transparency which enables the smooth running of our projects
With a staff of over 60 and close relationships with local building professionals our team and resources bring together a mix of expertise for all elements of the construction industry enabling us to plan, manage, and construct projects on time and within budget. Fitzgerald Construction Ltd has a strong focus on exceeding our client’s expectations and to achieve this we insist that our employees, suppliers, and subcontractors share this goal and will work together to complete the project to the highest standard.
In 2020, Fitzgerald Construction Limited became the merchant for Specialised Structures in the Tasman region. Since becoming the merchant for Specialised Structures in the Tasman region, we've witnessed remarkable growth and success in the steel portal frame buildings. Our success story is not just measured in numbers; it's reflected in the trust our clients place in us and the remarkable projects we've collectively accomplished. From commercial and industrial spaces to agricultural and residential buildings, Specialised Structures Tasman, in partnership with Fitzgerald Construction Limited, has been the driving force behind incredible structures that have transformed and added value to client's properties.
Fitzgerald Construction Limited has also diversified itself by designing, planning, and constructing transportable buildings. With many successful jobs with the Ministry of Education for schools around the South Island under our belt, we are expecting these buildings to be a big part of Fitzgerald Constructions' future and will be made easier with our purpose-built Offsite Manufacture Factory.
In 2023, Fitzgerald Construction opened a office in the Canterbury region. Along with this, FCL took over the Specialised Structures franchise for North Canterbury and Central Christchurch. We expect massive growth in the Canterbury region, and we look forward to being part of that growth.
