Construction Site Foreman

Fitzgerald Construction Limited is seeking an experienced Construction Site Foreman to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing daily site operations across a range of projects, from small-scale works through to larger commercial developments.
 

Reporting to the Project Manager and Construction Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily onsite activities to ensure projects run smoothly

• Provide onsite training, mentoring, and guidance to apprentices and site staff

• Allocate labour, equipment, and materials effectively to maximise productivity

• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and project management teams

• Monitor progress against construction programmes and assist with resolving site issues

• Order materials and manage deliveries to avoid delays or wastage

• Maintain strong communication with clients regarding progress and onsite matters

• Lead health and safety practices, including toolbox meetings, inductions, and site reviews

• Ensure site cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with all safety requirements

• Coordinate required inspections and close out any outstanding items

• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards

What We’re Looking For

• New Zealand Certificate in Carpentry (Level 4) or equivalent (required)

• Proven experience in a Site Foreman role (required)

• Current First Aid Certificate (required)

• Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills

• Ability to work both on and off the tools, depending on project requirements

• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to site management

• Commitment to health and safety and maintaining a positive site culture
